Re: [Tango-L] Prologue-- vs. Cop-outs
In response to the following premise:
>Tango( the way you dance it) represents society codes, gender roles
and also your personality.
You can change roles, content and form even while attempting to mimic
the original dance but the result may be another dance or a caricature
of the authentic one. <
>From el Tango, la otra historia, by Andres Carretero:
"To be tanguero one does not have to be tangologo, tangofilo, nor tanguista.
It is enough to feel part of the extraordinary ethnic groups composed by
blacks, tanos (Italians), Indians, Saxons, and Semites who inhabit the basin
of the river discovered by Solis"
"Knowledge increases pleasure. However if the pleasure is not wide and
generous, then knowledge leads to bickering and discrimination"
