In order to work in the US, an Argentine needs to obtain a work permit and
P-3 visa. In order to obtain the P-3 visa, a US sponsor has to do the
necessary paperwork required by INS for an Argentine to work. They cannot
work in the US on a tourist visa. The work permit process takes at least
four months. They must submit contracts where they are going to work.

Anyone hosting an Argentine in the US should ask them to demonstrate they
have entered with the proper visa and work permit. Those working on a
tourist visa can barred from the US for five years. This has happened.
It's best to contact an immigration lawyer such as Lisa Battan to do the
visa work for you and avoid problems with INS. Battanle@aol.com
