Re: [TANGO-L] Aron. How is the tango Festival going in Budapest?
Derik:
I thought the people who immigrated to Rawson, Argentina, were Welsh from
Wales, UK. I wasn't aware of any Rawsons who emigrated from the 13 colonies
during the war in the colonies against King George III. As a matter of fact,
currently the Welsh-Argentines are attempting to revive the Gaelic Welsh language
and pass it on to their progeny.

Dear Aron:
How is the Tango Festival going in Budapest? I really
like the old building, which is now a movie theater,
where you have your practicas.
PS - Thank you for the "vintage" recording of the
Rawson Tango. My ancestors from Rawson, Argentina in
Patagonia probably danced to that in Paris in the
1920's even before Gardel was there. I never knew
about them until just last year, when Frenchman from
Montreal told me the story of the tango. Apparrently
the Rawson's had to leave the 13 colonies because the
family was on the wrong side during the American
revolution...lol. Some of us went to Oklahoma and
Texas, which were both in Indian territory, et voila!
...je suis ici a Houston. Now, I know why I like
tango...lol.
