Re: [TANGO-L] Tango Festival in Budapest
> How is the Tango Festival going in Budapest? I really like
At this moment the events are just starting. On Monday there was a
performance of Flamenco+Tango (it is a rather modern piece, with lots of
flamenco and (stage) tango dancing with some poetry and brilliant live
music), Today the 'official' opening at an Argentine restaurant in Budapest
with a tango photo-exhibition, and a milonga has just finished.
Tomorrow there will be a milonga with some honor dances by well-known
Hungarian milongueros (improvisation of course) and live music by Tango
Experimento (HUN). On Friday we'll have the first workshops and milonga.
On Saturday and Sunday performances by Fernanda Ghi and Guillermo Merlo,
Nicoletta Pregnolato and Alberto Bersini (ITA), Julia Zueva and Alexei
Barbolin (RUS) and some Hungarian tango dancers (Laszlo Budai, Maria Glotz,
Adrienn Szekely and me), the Beltango Orchestra (YU).
Also, there will be a ball on Saturday (performance by our 'authentic' tango
orchestra, consisting of three tango teachers (on bass + 2 bandoneons) and
three semi-pro musicians (piano, violins)) with some more performances and
the milonga in the old movie theater on Sunday.
Workshops will be held by Guillermo + Fernanda, Julia + Alexei and Laszlo +
Maria (the organizers).
