The BO (as well as halitosis) problem is a tough one, there is no delicate
way to inform someone that they smell bad. I guess it falls upon people
close to the offender like his or her friends to alert them. Of course, a
person with BO is likely to be friendless as well...

The perfume issue is just as much of a problem. Years ago I used to wear
expensive colognes. I loved the aroma of those fragrances and always had
some around. I started hearing about perfume sensitive people and I
dismissed it all at first thinking they were exagerating. However, as time
has passed I find that I too have become pretty sensitive to many chemicals
including perfumes and colognes. Sometimes people wear so much perfume that
it's overpowering and actually causes me instant congestion. excessive
perfume is as much of a problem as BO and perhaps worse since BO is only
offensive while aromatic chemicals can actually cause allergic reactions.

The advise to "go easy on the perfume and eau de cologne" is very good and
should be heeded. For me, the sweet smell of a freshly washed body and hair
is the most pleasant to experience when dancing closely with another person.
