I agree.

In my conversation with old milongueros in Buenos Aires, among
themselves the competition in tango was about how many followers would
dance with them, and who could get a date with most beautiful one.

To me a tango competition is unnecessary, especially in the US because
of the ballroom mentality and heritage.

I rather go dancing and try to get as many followers as I can to dance
with me with their eyes close.
