Re: [TANGO-L] El Pibe Avelleneda

Rather than speculate about motives or hacking or deception, could someone
just ask him?

----Original Message Follows---- From: Rick McGarrey <rickmcg @FLASH.NET> I don't have any personal knowledge about El Pibe Avelleneda. My partner and I met him once at a milonga, and he seemed like a nice enough guy.

I could be wrong, but it seems almost certain to me that someone is out to
get
him. I suspect that someone hacked into his email account, took some of his
communications, translated them into English, and added a lot of foul
language
and damaging references to make him look bad. Then they used his account to
post them on the group under his name.

Like the rest of society, the Internet has its share of vandals, perverts,
and
criminals. My guess is that this is an attack by someone trying to ruin his
reputation and career as a teacher. If that is true, then I'm sure the
coward
who is responsible will never identify himself or herself. We should all be
aware that it is not hard to do this. Any of us could have someone access
our
emails, and post anything under our name or send false messages anywhere at
anytime.
