anything on a 2/4 or 4/4 beat could be used to dance tango on!
I remember dancing "shadow on the wall" by mike oldfield (very slow, but
danceable) in my living room with another tango-die-hard after the 2001/2002
tango-marathon at "el corte": after days of tango-music we still wanted to dance
... but were not in the mood for the tango tune itself. So we tried out
different pieces of my music collection ... the above mentioned one of a few.
Actually we later continued to Dave Brubeck's version of "take five" ...
which is 5/4 ... but we enjoyed "flying" around my living rooms dance floor.
Sure this was no "real" tango, not at all, but sure we had fun! A lot of fun!!!
And that's what it's all about, ne est ce que pas?
