[TANGO-L] Piropos "Sweet nothings".

Good evening

Tom wrote on the subject of piropos:

>You know, piropos aren't very hard if you just put a little heart into it.
>How often to you finish a tango and NOT say something complementary?
>Guys! I think most of women welcome such flattery. It needn't be
>"high art" like the argentines, it can just be a sincere thank you,
>which is always better if it includes a specific comment.

Nicely said Tom!

Piropos are one of the reasons why
Bs As is considered a macho country;
Portenas "loves it" and apparently
do not undestand why other cities
( like Montreal ) go the opposite way
not complimenting at all;

Why would one portena visiting Mtl
would say, is there something wrong
with me?

This point of view is expressed on
three pages in a book Francine Ruel
( of Mtl ) published last summer.

Piropos are not only confined to
the floors of the milongas. One
woman only need to walk on the street
to hear piropos coming out from
everywhere: the favorite piropos
Francine Ruel wrote about was:

"Je suis en amour avec vous depuis
 les deux derniers coins de rue"

`For two blocks now I am in love with you"
