So the question becomes how does one encourage "bad" teachers to want
to develop their teaching skills? I surmise that teachers who
subscribe to the list are interested in honing their skills and are
actively looking for ways to improve their teaching, communities,
etc. Thus the "bad" teachers must not be on this list or don't see
themselves in the complaints being presented.

One could say just let the market forces take over and the "good"
teachers will win out. Get real - this is tango with little
money-making involved for most people. (And how many potential people
would be lost forever.)

How many on the list have actually gone up to the instructor to
complain about his/her teaching?

How well could a beginner articulate what was "wrong" with an
instructor's teaching, even if the instructor uses a feedback form at
the end of a class?

I know of one instructor with a bad retention rate, who still doesn't
get it, even after concerns were voiced to him by some in the
community, including myself, either directly or through teacher's
meetings. Hmmm...blinders.

Suggestions, anyone?

Trini
