Of course this was going to be a contentious debate!
I'm not surprised somebody took issue with Manuel's
summary. There was bound to be a reaction about music
that many people like, when the question was not
whether or not the music is good, but rather do you
want to dance to it.
Personally, I think Manuel's Manifesto said it all.
I've never met him, but from reading his post, I'm
sure I would have a great time at his milongas.
For similar reasons, in NYC I ALWAYS have a great time
when Robin Thomas is selecting the music.
I always enjoy myself even when the music selected
isn't dance music, but I would probably enjoy myself
sitting out and listening more if the poster quoted
above were the DJ.
