Hi Francisco,
If you speak spanish, you should think about what Astrid wrote, then
read the following letra, think it over again and explain us what a
little Milonga with big bright eyes is, which make us sigh..

SANTA MILONGUITA
Letra de Enrique Cadmcamo
Musica de Enrique Delfino (found on:
http://argentina.informatik.uni-muenchen.de/tangos/msg03736.html)

Santa milonguita
tenma los ojos
tan grandes y claros
que hacman suspirar.

Sus labios pecaban
?........? y rojos
y era su mirada
color verde mar.

Ella que fue siempre
festmn y alegrma
en juego de copas
se harts de champagne.

Tuvo un bello arranque
de sensiblerma
y quiso ser buena,
buena como el pan.

Redimida
por la pasisn de un nuevo dueqo
mirando al cielo de su vida
encontrs mas encendida
la estrellita de sus sueqos.

Pero un dma
cuando el amor mas los ataba
golpes a su puerta rudamente
la miseria, y crudamente
del amor los separs.

I will try a short definition:
Milonguita is the name used for the young girls brought from eastern
Europe or France (Madamme Yvonne) with the promise to mary a rich
argentinian, or the the poor girls from the conventillos, ending as a
hostess or prostitute in the Tangobars. It was just organized crime
("Zwi Migdal"), persecuted first about 1930.
Since men wrote the lyrics, the milonguita is never the victim of the
society, it is her own fault because she refused the honest life in
poverty and addicted to champagne, the lights of the city, big cars and
diners.
This is a sad chapter in the history of Tango. So think about it, when
you dance the next time to "Madamme Yvonne", "Flor de Fango", "Muneca
Brava", "Francesita" and so on.
