Re: Orchesta Tipica Victor mystery

My copy of the Orquesta Tipica Victor CD on El Bandoneon EBCD-85 is titled
"1924-1940" and lists the tracks shown in the left hand list (all of which
are instrumentals):

My list Dan's List

 1 Negro (Tango) La Pueblera
 2 Retintin (Tango) La Cumparsita
 3 Pato (Tango) Viejo Rincon
4 Hilos de Plata (Tango) Solterona
5 La Payanca (Tango) Flor De Fango
6 Puente Alsina (Tango) Mal Querida
 7 Chuzazos (Tango) Barra Universitaria
8 Re Fa Si (Tango) Nino Bien
9 De Mi Barrio (Tango) Chorra
10 Fumando Espero (Tango) El Portenito
11 Julienne (Tango) Coqueta
12 Adios Muchachos (Tango) Paja Brava
13 Carta Brava (Tango) Bronca Rea
14 Che Papusa Oi (Tango) El Choclo
15 Ensueno (Vals) Vieja Calesita
16 Dominio (Tango) La Rosarina
17 Viento Norte (Tango) Recuerdo
18 Cardos (Tango) Pato y Negro
19 Como Tigre Cebao (Tango) Quiero Papita
20 Tango Milonguero (Tango) Ventarron

Not a single title on my list is consistent with the listing that Dan has.
I do not know every tango listed on the CD, but I have found tracks 2, 8,
12 (Retintin, Re Fa Si, and Adios Muchachos) to be accurately titled. No
version of La Cumparsita, El Choclo or Recuerdo is to be found on the CD
that I have. In addition, for each track a recording date from 1926
through 1940 is listed.

Adding to the confusion, Zival's lists "1926-1940" and "1925-1931" as
separate CDs. Zival's track listing for "1926-1940" is exactly the same as
on my CD. Zival's track listing for "1925-1931" is exactly the same as
Dan's list but in a different order.

It is exceedingly difficult to determine when Orquesta Tipica Victor was
active because they existed only in the recording studio. Orquesta Tipica
Victor was led by Adolfo Carabelli who worked as a recording executive for
RCA Victor in Buenos Aires.

I can only conclude that El Bandoneon has released two different CDs as
EBCD-85. Strangely enough, the "1925-1931" version has a substantially
similar track listing to EBCD-41 (Orquesta Tipica Victor "1925-34').
