Hello list members -
My main question is whether anyone on the list knows exactly when this band
stopped recording?
I'm trying to solve a mystery about the labeling of the two El Bandoneon
albums EB41 and EB85 of this orchestra. The El Bandoneon catalog, several
websites, and several individual copies of the CD list widely varying tracks
and recording years, for the same album. For instance, the track listing on
my copy of EB85 matches the El Bandoneon catalog, but does not match Steve
Brown's copy, or the listing in Zival's website. Various websites list
different tracks for the same album!!
Also, a bit of research suggests that this band did not record beyond 1934,
but my actual CD is titled "1926-1940". Adding to the confusion, my CD
jewel case insert cover lists the years 1925-1931 on the front cover, but
the track listing inside the cover lists tracks recorded between 1925-1933!!
I've listened closely to the tracks on my album, and songs that I know for
sure are indeed listed in the right order of the album, but who knows about
the songs I'm not familiar with?
My track listing for EB85:
1 La Pueblera
2 La Cumparsita
3 Viejo Rincon
4 Solterona
5 Flor De Fango
6 Malquerida
7 Barra Universitaria
8 Nino Bien
9 Chorra
10 El Portenito
11 Coqueta
12 Paja Brava
13 Bronca Rea
14 El Choclo
15 Vieja Calesita
16 La Rosarina
17 Recuerdo
18 Pato y Negro
19 Quiero Papita
20 Ventarron
Compilation 1996
