It felt as if someone turned the table upside down just as we were about leave after a small chat over a cup of tea. I dont know about fights at milongas where Al& Barbara think there is always an argentanian involved(the fights I do know are mostly between a man and a woman marked by icy looks -- a kind of cold war, violence by silence, rather than the pub brawl) but over the internet there always seems to be an american invovled ;-) BTW, all the postings that I sent which would have added more fuel to the fire were bounced back for execeeding the daily quota... not that they would have necessarily done any good. Cheers! rajan.

Tango is intense and ethereal, precise and totally free, sensual and intellectual, at the same time. I think the range of expressive possibilities is unparalleled. -- Carol Ruth Shepherd Arborlaw Associates PLLC Ann Arbor, Michigan USA 734 668 4646 v 734 663 9361 f business, technology, entertainment and new media law

Listeros: I only write today to protest the use, or reference to, my name on the Tango-L, by Sergio Suppa. I do not understand the reference. Other than being personally attacked by him, both on the Tango-L and in private E-mails sent by him to my address, I have never exchanged even one word of communication to him, in any manner, about any subject, at any time. Neither have I had any other communication with any other individual, about Sergio Suppa. In fact, I would never respond to him after seeing the way he operates and noting his anger and verbal violence previously, in spite of accusations and insults he has directed my way. So, dear members, why my name was mentioned I do not know, but it certainly has nothing to do with anything he is currently ranting about. Sorry to take your time with this. Steve Hoffman

I must correct myself to say that I did send a complimentary, one-sentence message to Sergio Suppa some weeks ago, saying I agreed with something he said. Otherwise, my disclaimer about not have anything to do with his current situation, and not wanting to be associated by having my name referenced in his e-mail to the List, stands as written. Date: Mon, 20 Mar 2000 01:43:51 -0500 From: Sergio Suppa <sersupa @INFOVIA.COM.AR> Subject: Something does not make any sense. This will be my last posting. I really cannot deal with so much irrational behavior. I apologize for writing about personal matters. * You may delete now* 1-Dustin Newcomb's posting. 2-Steve Hoffman's. He started sending me E-mails to tell me "thank you for your posting" "it was very interesting." I sent him only one answer stating: That, among other things I was now doing a sociological investigation, to see how difficult it was to stablish a meaningful relationship with strangers, here in Argentina. I said that I found that very easy. I also sent him autobiographical data; since both of as share the same profession. He never answered. apparently he thought that the note was a personal attack. NON SENSE! I know now, why he cannot meet people. :-) I then mentioned to tango-L that I had answered a note from Steve Hoffman,(the one where he stated that in Argentina it was impossible to meet people) I posted in both lines and that the one in ATOF was rejected "because I had answered to someone that was not subscribed to that list.(Steve Hoffman)." Is this an attack? Obviously not. Or maybe I am going crazy?. Now Steve is very upset because I mentioned his name. Does this make any sense?. Not to me. I think that there is need for more psychotherapists around there. Best wishes to you all. Signing off.
