I merely reported what I read. The article's context is that the woman wanted a chance to play and express her individuality. Unfortunately, it seems that message got buried under the notion of terminating the dance before its conclusion. Sorry for any confusion I caused. Dear Tangueros, thank you all who took part in the Ithaca's Summer TangoFest on June 23-25. Three great milongas, excellent instruction taught in parallel by Miguel Angel Zotto & Angeles and Edurdo Aguirre & Yvonne Meissner, Saturday milonga with around 150 tangueros, live music by Trio Pantango from Buenos Aires, performances, ... with Miguel & Angeles "setting the house on fire" with their truly outstanding performances ... and needless to say, a great milonga atmosphere every night (we had also different DJs on different nights, on Saturday it was Michel Auzat from Montreal). Tangueros came from as far as Cincinnati, Pittsburgh, Philadelphia, Scranton, Syracuse, Rochester, Binghamton, NYC, Montreal, Boston, Amherst, Durham, Washington/DC, Baltimore, even Sweden and Norway, and of course Ithaca... Hope you enjoyed the experience of dancing in Ithaca! Talking of tango-exchange, local tangueros were also able to host over 40 visiting tangueros at their homes. Many Thanks for the help!!! 'till next time! Best, Matej http://lancelot.bio.cornell.edu/matej/tango/

What if what they Really Want changes from moment to moment? What if what they want is to have a warm, intimate, friendly, enjoyable dance experience that thrills their hearts, and what they Don't Want is to have to analyze, focus, pay attention, struggle, practice endless boring balance and frame and lead-and-follow drills with imperfect, hesitant, groping-in-the-dark, critical leaders? What if what they want is to have enjoyable dances with great leaders, and what they don't want is to have to go through endless hours of not-so-enjoyable dancing with stumble-footed types to get there? --- andy Ungureanu <Andy.Ungureanu @T-ONLINE.DE> wrote: > Melanie Archer schrieb: > > I didn't see mention of another reason for followers' > hesitation to indulge > > in practicas: the > > unsolicited critiques we receive from leaders. ... > To all followers! > ... > It is obvious that it is almost a miracle when the non verbal > communication of two bodies is perfect. Correct. Milongas are for social dancing, not teaching, criticizing, lecturing, or practicing. > When I know somebody really well I might give some > hints, the > reaction is usually positive, e.g. "Why didnt you tell this > earlier?" > On the other side, I know the comments of the ladies about > "teachers" > trying to explain every figure they learned few days ago to > every lady , > if she want it or not. > > Now the question(s) (to be answered only by followers): > > What do you prefer??
