Dear amigos Tangueros;
I'd love to know what version of "Don Juan" and "La Cumparsita" played
at the movie "Tang Bar" (there are two versions , I'm interested in the one
danced by the milongueros at the last part of the movie)
Also I have a friend that wants to subscribe to the Tango-L and needs to
know how to do it, please send me information.
Thank you; Dario

In a real world an apartment in that location (4 to 5 Rms., 1 full Bth) would
cost no more than $500, I think she could do better than that, if you are a
good negotiator
My parents have an apartment 14 blocks away from the one you've mention
(Rivadavia and Victor Martinez), ( 9 Rms, 3 full Bths.) extra large for the
area and they would get $800 a month (if they are lucky)

It seems to me that one should expect a different scale for rent
if one is renting by the week, rather than the month. So, while
$800/month might seem a lot, $200 per week is perhaps reasonable,
especially compared to the cost of hotel accomodation.
Though visiting Bs As is just a faraway dream for me now, I still
appreciate all of the information that people have posted.
Thanks!
Djun

What I know about the apartment Sramana talked about is that when you rent from
Maria Teresa Lopes, you're probably also getting a personal guide to Buenos
Aires life and to the best milongas each night, as well as introductions to
excellent porte~no and porte~na dance partners (not to mention things like
housecleaning service, and a friendly, dependable pickup at the airport for
just the cost of gas, tolls and parking). You'd better ask Maria Teresa what's
included in the price before judging whether it's a fair price. I don't think
one can ever compare brief seasonal rental prices with year round prices.
I rented from Maria Teresa 6 months ago, as did my friend Norma Greco. I
believe that one of Maria Teresa's greatest pleasures comes from the
friendships she's making by opening her home and her daughter's former place to
tangueros and tangueras from around the world, something for which Norma and I
are grateful. (Guess who I'm renting from next time.)
To get accurate information about renting a room or apartment, you can reach
Maria Teresa through Janis Kenyon, jantango @feedback.net.ar.
