I've just received confirmation from other satellite users here in Italy
that SoloTango is dead and gone! Is this the case also in Argentina? I know
they were losing money but they just stopped broadcasting from one day to
the other! Please let me know for sure so that I can stop hoping that it
will suddenly reappear...

I have not seen the program and indeed it might have been disappointing.
However, the statement about Piazzolla's success in Bs As is not quite
correct. I think Piazzolla was and still is somewhat controversial and his
music is not traditional danceable tango, but he is definitely admired and
appreciated in Bs As as well as throughout the world.

Subject: tango on US TV
!Hola listeros!
Quite often I read, on this list, of television screenings of tango on US
television. You can't believe how frustrating this is to those of us who
aren't in the US!
Would anybody know how I can get videos of these programs (maybe a
compilation tape)? Perhaps some of this footage might even be on a website
somewhere?
There is a small, but suitably tango-obsessed group of us in Australia who
avidly follow every bit of tango we can find on video.
...And I won't even begin to describe how much we'd like to attend the many
tango events you all discuss.
