In short: The list software uses peculiar Return-Path header, that is generated my MTA, and which I have no control over. Other lists that I've subscribed to (30-40) use standard From header or allow subscription commands in format: unsubscribe [LIST] [ADDRESS] if the above command is not available at least The From header can be manually generated by user (at least by Emacs, which gives total control over email) So my request is two folded: 1) Please unsubscribe any account named "jaalto" or "jari.aalto" from this list, because I'm shifting servers. 2) Please either a) change to better list software, that allows remote subscriptions commands (smartlist, ezlm, Majordomo ..) b) Add feature that obeys above command syntax jari

I managed to receive the Argentine TV Programme "Solo Tango" through the satellite HOTBIRD 2. Now I'm wondering whether there might be an online TV guide to better plan when to watch this channel. I tried already the URL www.pumatv.com/solotango.html, but I didn't found what I was looking for. If anyone knows about, please tell me! Miguel Angel Zotto insisted on this for all the followers in the first workshop I did with him in 1996. I had asked Natalie Games, who was assisting, exactly when should I do this, and she answered "siempre, siempre, siempre!" You can use your heels to support some of your weight and still keep your weight forward. This, plus gel or foam shoe inserts, completely relieved the soreness on the balls of my feet. I never had it again. I hope this helps your partner, Sean. Last week Greg asked about calluses, and when I read JC's post about trimming them with nail scissors, I winced. I'd never try that! I also develop them on the ball of my foot and the inner edge of my big toe, but I use a wide, gentle, spatula-shaped "file", made for this purpose, in the bath or after every shower. It lets you take the calluses down to the amount of protective padding you want to keep, and takes about 30 seconds per foot to maintain after your first "pedicure". Date: Wed, 28 Apr 1999 01:42:07 +0200 From: Helaine Treitman <treitman @GIOTTO.ORG> Subject: Yet another foot problem Hello friends, Now I want to ask for help with a foot problem: Bunions! I've got it partially solved, but I still need advice. I started developing them about a year ago. The more often and the longer I danced, the worse they got! During my 15 days in Buenos Aires, some nights (or mornings) I couldn't fall asleep till I massaged my feet with arnica cream, an herbal anti-inflammatory. My bunions and adjoining metatarsals began to hurt not only when I danced in high heels, but even when I walked in everyday shoes. Then once while dancing, I caught sight of my feet in a mirror and discovered that I'm involuntarily folding one foot in when I step, surely to shift my weight toward the outside of my foot and avoid stepping on the painful joint - this does not make for pretty footwork. So I did a lot of research on the Web and finally zeroed in on several companies that make custom orthotics - thin molded shoe inserts that change the way you distribute your weight over your feet. At the same time I consulted two podiatrists, who seemed to just be acting as expensive middlemen between the patient and the orthotics producer. So I chose the orthotics company who works with a lot of swing dancers and who answered my questions to my satisfaction. I got their foot-casting boxes in the mail and sent them back my casts and $250. Within a week I had my custom, semi-rigid orthotics, which fit nicely in all my shoes and even under my hose (to keep them from slipping forward when I wear high-heels). They are washable, remain odorless, and have a 15 year guarantee. I wear them all the time and they have really relieved my daily foot pain. In fact, the manufacturer said that over time they will help my feet heal and change, allowing the deposits on my big-toe joint to slowly be reabsorbed into my bloodstream. Now, however, even though I switched from 3" to 2" heels and always wear the orthotics, after many hours of dancing my bunions get painfully and visibly inflamed again. I really miss dancing in 3" heels, too, but the inflammation starts sooner when I do. At least the pain is gone the next morning and stays away till I dance long hours again. Does anyone have experience with this problem? Thanks! In salon any "weight" is more likely downward, but > only the following situations are actually painful: > ... One contribution: weight does NOT have to be downward. Daniel Trenner does an exercise in which both partners focus on the weight you give your partner being UPWARD. (We ended up calling this "giving upness"....) This doesn't sound possible, & is hard to describe in words, but try it. It's part of standing straight yourself -- where "straight" doesn't necessarily mean separate from your partner, but feeling your own lightness & height & upness (you know, there's that string attached to the top/back of your head that your whole spine hangs from, perfectly aligned) -- then thinking of sharing that lightness with your partner. It really feels nice. Again, this applies to both partners, even if the man is much taller than the woman (or vice versa, I suppose!) -- he should still be standing tall & proud; neither should be hunched down to meet the other. (So do I actually dance that way all the time?...well, no, but if I think of it, I try to....) -Kate :)

She's 85 and has never danced in her life. Does dancing make our feet grow old faster? I think I'll take my chances, for tango sure keeps the rest of my body feeling young. Karen
