Canyengue: is the pure essence of the beginning of tango; its origins go back to approximately 1900. The word:CANYENGUE pronounced CANJENNGAY, is afro which means RHYTHMICAL WALK. It is a sensual and picaresque dance, an incomparable experience, the moves are cut and brisk, the beat used to be 4X8 but with time the scores evolved to what the present tango is: 2X4.
