The city's transit union went on strike 3 AM today, shutting
down
buses and subways.
I strongly suggest you look at the new york city tango web
page (www.newyorktango.com) and contact milonga organizers
to see if their milonga or workshop is still on.
Full transit info available on the city's transit page
http://www.mta.info
The transit union has a history of militancy. When issued a
restraining order during the 1966 strike, the union
president said "the judge can drop dead in his black robes."
Well, the union president died shortly thereafter. Even
greater irony, is that the city named a depot after him.

The ONLY time I will ever say "I'm glad I'm not in New
York."
