MISC: Pre-war Luis Mariani bandoneon for sale. (Was: Pre-war Alfred Arnold (AA) for sale.)

Beautiful and rare Argentinean bandoneon
(black/mother-of-pearl) over 60 years old. In
extraordinary shape, bearing the famous Luis Mariani
plaque. Favorite instrument of an Argentinean tango
dancer-legend. Unbelievable left-hand voices. Price
US$2,000 (non-negotiable).

After I sent the previous announcement to the list, I
was told that the bandoneon was actually one of the
rare ones manufactured in Argentina by Luis Mariani.
See
http://mx.geocities.com/cesar_olguin_mx/del_bandoneon.html.
The other information in my previous announcement was
accurate.

It is not my bandoneon. I am a friend of the owner
(who is visiting from Argentina). The owner does not
have e-mail access. I've handled this bandoneon. The
bellows are tight. The action is smooth and easy.
Very little effort is required to start the reeds
vibrating. It has a beautiful sound. The body is in
black lacquer with mother-of-pearl inlay in the
three-flowers pattern.

The bandoneon is in Montreal, Canada. E-mail me if
you want to inspect the bandoneon or if you want more information.
