EU-W: International PIAZZOLLA MEETING 2002
P I A Z Z O L L A - M E E T I N G 2 0 0 2
25-27 October 2002
Lausanne/Switzerland.
A WEEK-END OF WORKSHOPS, MUSIC & DANCE
The success of last year's "Milonga Meeting 2001" marked the beginning
of the "Meetings" organised by Shawn & Cathy under the banner of "Tango
Nomade". This year, the association has gone a step further, and has
organised a series of weekends culminating in an extended weekend event
of tango for DANCERS wanting to work to the music of ASTOR PIAZZOLLA.
The PIAZZOLLA-MEETING-2002 is taking place on the shores of lake Geneva
on the southern edge of Switzerland. It is starring the talented (and
very appreciated) argentine dance-couple FERNANDA Ghi & GUILLERMO
Merlo (Argentina), plus the dancers SHAWN & CATHY (Canada &
Switzerland/Poland), and the scholarly poet/writer/philosopher NORBERTO
GIMMELFARB. Come prepared for three evenings of dance (including
exhibitions and tango-Ball with SURESTE TANGO for the Saturday-night
live-music and DJ-Cathy for the rest!) and three days of special-theme
workshops such as:
Ideas to START and FINISH a Tango - for leaders AND followers.
How to dance on Piazzolla in an Expressive manner IN CROWDED
MILONGAS.
Musical periods of Piazzolla and 3 propositions for
dance-interpretation.
What exactly is this MUSIC used throughout the weekend (conference)?!
CHOREOGRAPHY on Piazzolla for Intermediate & Advanced dancers.
Piazzolla for Beginners (inspired by Juan Carlos Copes'
choreography).
Research for LIBERTY and FREEDOM in the music.
Tango is also a "happy thought"... that is danced.
