David,
I did not visit many cities in Germany. However, according to my research, Berlin was THE city for tango in Germany, where we visited this June and had wonderful time. You can go to milongas every night, and many at same night on weekend.
Good luck.

Subject: EU-W Best German City for Tango?
Hello Tanga-A List,
I was wondering what German cities are considered outstanding for Tango?
For instance, Montreal, Canada has four or more tango salons with classes or
events at least six days a week. Likewise, the San Francisco Bay Area of
California, has as many studios with a similar number of events. Is there a
city in Germany that is considered a Mecca for tango?
I may be relocating to Germany and I want to pick the right city to maintain
my passion for Tango!
Thanks in advance for your advice,
David

We want to thank the Tango community in Florida for their support that
contributed to make Tango Dreams a resounding artistic success. For those=
of
you that missed the reviews in The Coral Gables Gazette and The Miami
Herald, they will be posted in Tango in South Florida
http://www.neurontech.fr/tango/ later this evening.
As a way of expressing our thanks, and with the sponsorship of the Actors
Playhouse at the Miracle Theatre, we are organizing a special Tango Under
the Stars, on November 3, 2000, from 7 till 9.30 p.m., at 280 Miracle Mil=
e.
We will be dancing in the street, in front of the Theatre, with a
professional sound system and the same music you dance to at the milongas=
in
Buenos Aires.
It is Gallery Night in Coral Gables, and people interested in culture in
general and artistic expression in particular will be visiting the art
galleries. We want to show these people what Tango is, and we are invitin=
g
our tango community, the social dancers as well as the professionals, to =
be
present. As usual in Tango Under the Stars, we will have a place to displ=
ay
fliers, and we will have water for our thirsty dancers.
Let=92s make of the year 2000 a special one for Tango in Miami. We have g=
reat
local teachers and milongas to attend and restaurants with excellent Tang=
o
shows. We had a very successful Tango Congress and several world-class
visiting teachers. We saw our two youngest professional couples come seco=
nd
and third in the IDO World Championship at the Fountainbleu. We launched
Tango Dreams into reality and The Actors=92 Playhouse is opening Evita on
November 17. Fernanda Ghi and Guillermo Merlo are special guests at the
Gala Dinner on opening night for Evita, and again two days later in the
celebrations of the 75th. Year of the City of Coral Gables=85..and now we=
have
the opportunity, with the sponsorship of the Actors=92 Playhouse, to make=
this
Tango Under the Stars the best ever! Be there!

Subject: NA-W: Update Hit and Run Milonga San Francisco
Hello Alfresco Milongueros,
Just wish to confirm our Milonga event, all in addition to Fleet Week,
ball games, and whatever else scheduled for this Sunday. What a rich,
exciting enviornment for everyone.
HIT AND RUN TANGO ALFRESCO MILONGA
cordially invites you to a Tango happening
MAIDEN LANE IN SAN FRANCISCO
with Dale Meyer and his Live Tango Band
STRICTLY TANGO
SUNDAY OCTOBER 8, 2000
Hours 1 til 3 PM
St. Francis Hotel after for drinks and laughs and MORE TANGO
On Sunday, October 8, 2000 (weather permitting), a HIT AND RUN MILONGA
will be held from 1PM to 3PM at Maiden Lane between Grant and Kearny
Streets (near Union Square) in San Francisco. This is the same location
as the last Hit and Run Milonga.
Dale Meyer and his Strictly Tango band will provide the live music.
As many of you know, Maiden Lane is closed to auto traffic so we can
dance in the street and on the sidewalk. Many tourists and others will
be in the area so an audience should develop.
Our object is to create a 1920's like Buenos Aires street milonga scene
so we ask that some of you (those who may wish) come in period dress
(women in headbands, perhaps box hats, feathers, whatever - - men in
double-breasted suits, hats, whatever). Of course, any dress is
acceptable. As to the "run" in HIT AND RUN, the "run" part is that
(those who survive) intend to escape to the St. Francis Hotel for drinks
and laughs after, AND ALSO MORE TANGO, all to the beautiful live piano
music of Alberto. As the St. Francis Hotel holds a very nice English Tea
on Sunday afternoons in the beautiful Compass Rose Room, people there
are often well dressed (for us the English Tea part is optional). The
afternoon should be a lot of fun.
RESERVATIONS - The St. Francis Hotel has requested that we call (each
table group) for table reservations to insure that we will be seated
promptly upon arrival. At the last Hit and Run we arrived at the Compass
Rose Room with some sixty (60) plus of our dancers and quickly
overwhelmed the hotel staff. The hotel would like to welcome us with
good service and food, and as this requires them to put on extra waiters
and secure sufficient food for our needs, they need some idea of how
many of us to expect. THE HOTEL REQUESTS THAT WE CALL FOR TABLE
RESERVATIONS NO LATER THAN SATURDAY. OCTOBER 7, 2000 FOR OUR INDIVIDUAL
REQUIREMENTS. Failure to do so may mean that you will be required to
wait for a table. Please call the St. Francis Hotel at 415-397-7000 and
ask to be connected to Compass Rose Room reservations.
Donation - As the band is playing for tips only, a $2.00 per person
donation for the band will be appreciated.
Parking - Inexpensive parking is available at the Sutter/Stockton
garage.
Dance surface - The street is asphalt, but the surface is fairly good.
However, it is suggested you leave your best dance shoes at home.
