OTHER INFORMATION
Classes are not expected to sell out. No partner is necessary--there
will be partner changes. Wear leather-soled shoes comfortable for
dancing. Light snacks will be provided during workshop breaks. Dress is
casual for the workshops. However, "La Milonga" is a more formal dance
and appropriate attire is requested.

This coming week brings a wealth of special Tango events to the Boston
area, starting with a special teacher and an exhibition at next
Wednesday's Tango Dance break, "Cool Tango" at the Coolidge Corner
Cinema, a special weekend of workshops and La Milonga by Argentine Tango
masters NITO and ELBA (described in detail in a separate e-mail earlier
today to Tango-A)! And that's not all -- "Noche Argentina" is the
following Thursday!

1. WEDNESDAY, 17 MAY: SPECIAL TANGO SOCIETY'S MID-WEEK DANCE BREAK
- Special guest class by Jose Garofalo from Buenos Aires, appearing
courtesy of the Boston Tango School (not affiliated with the Tango
Society of Boston), where he is teaching classes this month on Tuesdays
and Thursdays
- Appearance and introduction of Nito and Elba (and informal
demonstration by them!)--they will be teaching workshops the following
weekend, sponsored by the Tango Society of Boston.
Price still $3 Tango Society of Boston members, $4 non-members. VFW Mt.
Auburn Post, 688 Huron Av, Cambridge. Class by Jose Garofalo 7:30-8:30,
Dancing 8:30-11:30.
2, THURSDAY, 18 MAY: "COOL TANGO" AT COOLIDGE CORNER CINEMA
- Exhibition by Nito and Elba
- Screening of "Tango: The Obsession"
- Dancing for all following the screening
All for only $5 (with Tango Society of Boston or Coolidge Corner Cinema
membership card, $8 general admission). Coolidge Corner Cinema, 290
Harvard Street, Brookline, Show at 9:30 pm, screening follows, dancing
after the movie. Benefit for the Coolidage Corner Cinema, co-sponsored
by the Tango Society of Boston. ("Tango: The Obsession" is one of the
best Tango documentaries made, and features interviews with many of your
favourite maestros who have visited Boston!)
*** Keep the momentum going and continue late into the night at Tango
Rialto (which may stay open a little past the normal closing of 1:30 am
for the occasion) at the Charles Hotel in Harvard Square. Free admission
on 18 May for those holding "Cool Tango" ticket stubs, courtesy of Tango
Rialto (normal cover $10)!
3. SATURDAY, 20 MAY - MONDAY, 21 MAY: WORKSHOPS WITH NITO & ELBA GARCIA
Workshops with Tango masters Nito and Elba (available for all levels of
dancers). Details were posted in an earlier e-mail today to Tango-A, or

4. SUNDAY, 21 MAY: "LA MILONGA" WITH SPECIAL EXHIBITION BY NITO & ELBA!
(Details posted with earlier Nito and Elba workshop posting.)
5. THURSDAY, 25 MAY: "NOCHE ARGENTINA" AT CAFE TEATRO
- Live Argentine Music concert featuring several talented local
musicians, and directed by Claudio Ragazzi originally from Argentina and
now with the Berklee School of Music
- Exhibition by Nito and Elba Garcia
- Milonga (dancing) following performances!
- Complimentary valet parking
All for only $10 (with Tango Society of Boston member card, $14 general
admission). Jorge Hernandez Cultural Center, 85 West Newton St, Boston.
Event starts 8:00 pm. Co-sponsored by the Tango Society of Boston.
*** Once again, Tango Rialto (at the Charles Hotel in Harvard Square)
generously offers free admission on 25 May for late night dancers (till
1:30 am) following "Noche Argentina" for those holding "Noche Argentina"
ticket stubs!

light of the full moon on the Weeks pedestrian footbridge over the

Dear Tango Affecinados!
We are now taking reservations for Tango at Sea 2000. This wonderful 7
night cruise and dance filled vacation will begin and end in Los Angeles,
California on Carnival's "Fun Ship" Elation. This cruise will set sail on
November 26 and return on December 3, 2000. Ports of call include: Puerto
Vallarta, Mexico; Mazatlan, Mexico; and Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. Plus, three
fun dance filled days on the Pacific.
Instructors at this time will be: Christy Cote & Daniel Lapadula, Nito &
Elba Garcia, Michelle Badion & Evan Wallace, Nora Dinzelbacher and Leon C.
Harris. Instructors are subject to change.
Package consists of cruise, all port charges and taxes, all meals and
entertainment, all group
dance instruction, and a Tango at Sea T-Shirt. Private lessons and Milongas
will also be offered.
Rates for inside cabins start at &940 per person; for Oceanview cabins the
rates start at $1110 per person. Airfare is not included, but
