From: Jonathan Blakely <jnb1 @phy.duke.edu>
To: Triangle Tangueros <triangle-tangueros @egroups.com>
Hello everyone,
I am very excited to announce Triangle Tangueros' first milonga
with LIVE MUSIC. This Sunday (June 25), Argentine musical group Trio
Pantango will perform at the Triangle Dance Studio (on Miami Blvd.) The
Trio is on a tour of the United States promoting their latest CD, "El
Ultimo Cafe". See their bio (in English, Spanish or German) at
http://www.geocities.com/SoHo/Workshop/5749/triopantango.html
The milonga will begin at 8 pm.
There will be food and drinks (soft/wine), including some sweets and
fruits. If anyone would like to volunteer to bring something, contact
Ernest Pecounis (pecounis @bellsouth.net).
To help cover the cost of the musicians we will ask for a donation ($15
minimum) at the door. If you would like to contribute more in order to
cover expenses, it would be greatly appreciated.
Organizing this event has been no small task and we are left with little
time to advertise. PLEASE SPREAD THE WORD. Tell all your
friends! Teachers, tell your students! We want this milonga to be a
success so that we can bring more live music to the Triangle.

Subject: NA-W: San Francisco--thanks & see you there!
Thanks to everybody who responded to my SF query. How ironic that not long
after I posted about my disenchantment with tango mega-events, I
coincidentally end up flying right into the middle of one! We are
traveling for family and general sightseeing as well as tango, so we won't
go to every milonga, but in any case it will be nice to see some old
friends and meet new ones from all over.
If you see us, come over and say hello. I'm 5'4" with short, light brown

We have built this series of workshops based on three major
concepts. Each concept will be taught in either 2 or 3 workshops
to allow the student to reinforce the concepts learned, as well as
explore variations offered by 3 different couples. Equal attention
and information will be given to both men and women. You will
leave these workshops with a deep understanding of these basic
concepts as well as how to apply them in your social dancing.
The Musicality and Choreography workshops will be a bit different.
In this course, you will learn how to understand and use the
phrases of music, and how to choose movements appropriate for
both real choreographies as well as social dancing.

Can someone who knows please state what kind of
dance floor will be available at this event?
As far as I know, city hall has marble floors.
It will make a difference to the kind of shoes
one should wear. Thin suede soles (ballroom shoe type)
do not perform as well on marble as regular leather
does. Also, a stronger arch support is needed when
dancing in a hard surface that doesn't "give" as
wooden floors do.
