Hugo has been dancing all his life, achieving a masters status in folklore Argentino (Maestro Infantil) at the age of 14. In 1993 he traveled the US teaching and performing, and He began training in "Tango Danza" in 1994. Hugo and Silvia are members of the Brandsen and Salta Ballets, and are presently performing tango and folklore at "Casa Blanca" in San Telmo, the birthplace of tango. Their presence will only be seen at the dinner dance and not at the work shops. they come to us that night as special guests of Amy & Ray Hogan founders of the Latin & Argentine Tango Club of Detroit. Please welcome Hugo and Silvia as they take you to the world of the Argentine cowboy, dancing a medley of folklore and malambo from northern Argentina. All classes are $30 each. Discounts apply for advance registration or attending multiple classes. Please call/email for details and rates. They will also be available for private lessons taught either together or separately. Brief Bios on Brooke & Gaby Brooke Burdett, a tango instructor and driving force in the development of the Colorado tango community, has been living in Buenos Aires since March 1997. She moved to Argentina to deepen her understanding of the dance and its cultural environment and to strengthen her knowledge of the many diverse styles learned from the great tango masters. Brooke teaches and performs tango in Buenos Aires. Some of her most influential teachers have been Gustavo Naveira & Olga Besio, Fabian Salas, Chicho, Graciela Gonzalez, Florencia Taccetti, Mingo & Esther Pugliese and Juan Bruno. Gabriel Gueberoff (Gaby), of Argentina, is one of the members of the most innovative set of young tango dancers in Buenos Aires. Fluent in English, Gaby is a natural teacher and communicator whose work with tango follows his many years of teaching Israeli folk dances. Well-known by both North and South American tangueros, Gaby has taught tango throughout the U.S. and has been a featured instructor at the Tango Locura festival in Montreal.
