About Metin:
One of the finest dancers and teachers of the younger generation of
tango, Metin has become an inspiration to many Tango lovers in
Europe and in the USA.
Metin maintains a very busy teaching schedule, touring US, Europe
and Turkey extensively. Teaching and performing in major cities
like New York, Chicago, Los Angeles; Toronto; Bologna Italy;
London UK; Munich, Germany; Istanbul, Turkey. He shared the
same stage with the leading performers in shows on Broadway, NY -
TownFest, Hollywood - Los Angeles. Also performed at La Galeria
De Tango Club Sin Rumbo, Buenos Aires. He was also invited to
the White House by Bill Clinton when hosting a tango party
organized to honor the visit of Carlos Menem, the ex-president of
Argentina.
Metin is known for his true gift for teaching: a profound knowledge
and understanding of Argentine tango; an uncanny ability to
diagnose students' problems, and explain clearly (often with
humorous analogies and entertaining exercises) how to surmount
them; and, not the least, he cares about his students and wants them
to be fine dancers.
Competent at various tango styles, milonga and vals, he's just as
great teaching followers as leaders.
Gustavo Naveira, Roberto & Vanina, of Buenos Aires, Argentina are
among his mentors.

Daniel Lapadula from Argentina, performer and choreographer of the tango
scene in the movie "Random Hearts." Daniel also starred in the stage
presentation of "Una Noche De Tango" with the Florida Philharmonic Orchestra.
Besides all that, Daniel was one of the tango instructors aboard the Tango
Sea Cruise.
Tioma "El Ruso" Maloratsky From Moscow, Russia, now residing in New York
City, Tioma just starred in and received outstanding reviews from the New
York Times for his performance in "Tango Fusion." Tioma is also a tango
instructor at the International Ballet Dance Center at Carnegie Hall, and
believe it or not, Tioma gave up a career in Physics when he discovered Tango
Argentino.
Jorge Nel from Columbia. Jorge is the organizer of the "Tango Congress of
Miami Beach," and he will also be instructing some wonderful Milonga classes
while in Cleveland.
Christy Cote' from San Francisco, Calf. Christy partnered with Daniel
Lapadula aboard the Tango Sea Cruise, and also is a wonderful tango
instructor in San Francisco.
Katrina Zeno from Steubenville, Ohio. Personally introduced to me by Fabian
Salas. Katrina is the only amateur performing, and that's only because she
puts her family and church before any thing else. I really feel if Katrina
wanted to make tango a career, she would be a big star.

Subject: NA_E: Montreal Workshops, Special Events?
Hello Tango-A,
I'll be in Montreal on business from February 17 through 21st and I'm
wondering if there are any special events or workshops planned for these
dates? Also, I'd like to know if there are any Sunday afternoon milongas or
practicas?
Thanks very much,

Subject: SA: "CITA-2000" update
Hello, Tango Lovers!
We have updated our Web site with photos and short commentaries for
all the Master Teachers of the CITA-2000 (Congreso Internacional de
Tango Argentino), which will take place in Buenos Aires the week of
March 12 - March 19, 2000.
You are welcome to visit our pages (http://www.cosmotango.com/news.htm
and http://www.cosmotango.com/Cita_Classes.htm) and click on the names
of the teachers to see their individual pages.
We update our detailed schedule
(http://www.cosmotango.com/Cita_Classes.htm) on a weekly basis to
indicate which classes have become full and which ones are getting
close to being full.
In fairness to many people who have registered (i.e. paid) early, but
have not signed up for classes yet due to various legitimate reasons
(travel, illness, lack of Internet access, etc.), we ask for
everyone's patience before we contact you in order to confirm your
exact personal CITA schedule. Please allow another 7 to 10 days before
we contact you.
We thank the Tango community of the whole world for an absolutely
fantastic response to our event in Buenos Aires and our teachers are
looking forward to sharing their art and passion with all of you who
can come to their homeland this March.
There are still spaces available for late comers - but please don't
wait too long. The last day to register and sign-up for classes is
March 1, 2000.
