MEXICO, JANUARY 24-30, 2000. TANGO BY THE SEA! IF YOU REPLY BEFORE JAN.11,
YOU CAN STILL GET IN!! Come dance and learn more tango in a stunning and wild
jungle beach resort near Puerto Vallarta. FABIAN SALAS, renowned master
teacher from Argentina, CLAUDIA and JULIAN MILLER RAMIL from San Francisco
are instructing. Fabian will incorporate rhythm integral to the dance,
syncopation, proper execution of giros, the theory behind boleos and
performing them gracefully, milonga steps, internal and external ganchos, and
possibly a class on more improvisational steps for advanced students.
$980 USD per person, double occupancy, 6 nights, all meals, beer and wine,
Mexican Fiesta night with tequila shots, Mexican buffet, folkloric dancing,
welcome cocktail party, 2 to three tango classes each day, 6 hour workshop,
milongas each night. Other activities include sea kayaking, sailing,
snorkeling on nearby islands, horseback riding, hiking to waterfall.
Claudia and Julian are excellent and well-respected teachers who have
studied with Susana Miller and Gustavo Naveira among many others. The
philosophy of their teaching is to guide students to clearly see the basics
within the complicated patterns of Argentine Tango, making their progress and
the dance itself easy and exciting.

A happy new year to everone on the list!
2000 will be a memorable year for Sydney - the Olympic Games, El Saturno
milonga etc.
More on the latter event ... the El Saturno milonga will run every 1st and
3rd Friday of the month at Glebe Town Hall (160 St John's Rd, Glebe). Below
are the exact dates to June:
Jan 21st
Feb 4th, 18th
March 3rd, 17th
April 7th, 21st
May 5th, 19th
June 2nd, 16th
Admission is $8 (payable at the door) and includes tango, milongas and vals
tunes from 8pm until midnight, finger food and water. BYO wine. We will
have some live music etc whenever possible.
