Date: Tue, 1 Feb 2000 14:49:53 EST From: Victor Crichton <victor_vsc @HOTMAIL.COM> Subject: NA-S: Workshop with Fernanda Ghi and Guillermo Merlo I a very pleased to announce a weekend of workshops with Fernanda Ghi and Guillermo Merlo in Tampa Bay on March, 4th and 5th, 2000. Fernanda and Guillermo are one of the best young couples performing and teaching Argentine Tango anywhere in the world. They are from Buenos Aires, Argentina and they tour extensively throught Europe and the United States. Their performances are breath-takingly dynamic and filled with passion. They are the current Argentine Tango Professional World Champions and have been featured in many Tango shows such as "Tango Vivo", "Tangoing", and the recent PBS production "Tango Magic". Along with their performance credentials they are also very well respected and extremely popular teachers. This was acknowledged recently when they were invited to teach at CITA 2000, the biggest Tango Congress in Argentina. I have attended their workshops and have taken private lessons with them and I can tell you first hand that they are wonderful teachers. Though their performance style is definitely for show, they teach truly authentic salon Tango. They have a preference for close embrace while allowing for a slight openness for specific movements. They focus on strong fundaments and proper communication between the man and the lady. Anyone who attends their workshops will come away an improved dancer. You will learn exercises that can be used individually or as a couple to improve your technique, your balance, your posture, and your understanding of your individual responsibilities within the couple. You will learn some different variations to show how the exercises can be applied to your dancing while at a milonga. And you will also learn how to improve the movements that you already know. Fernanda and Guillermo are truly a warm and charming couple and they will make sure that you also enjoy yourselves while you are learning. There will be a milonga on Friday, March 3rd where Fernanda and Guillermo will honor us with a couple of performances, there will be two workshops on Saturday, March 4th and two workshops plus a supervised practica on Sunday, March 5th.
