11:00-12:30 PM Beg/Adv Fundamentals According to Metin. Not your =
average fundamentals class--
Metin's perspective is quite different and really cool. $20
1:30-3:00 PM Int/Adv Active/Passive and Up/Down Energy. =
Uniquely Metin, this class shows different ways of leading pauses and =
pivot turns. $20
3:30-5:00 PM Int/Adv Close Embrace. On this subject, Metin is =
a bit iconoclastic. In other words, do what works--i.e., connect when =
and where it is comfortable and logical. $20
SUN OCT 1
11:00-12:30 PM Int/Adv Sacadas. From simple to complex and =
difficult, Metin will unravel the mysteries of this essential tango =
move. $20
1:30-3:00 PM Int/Adv Interruptions. Also called "alterations" =
or "change of direction", Metin often executes this move from a sacada. =

3:30-5:00 PM Adv Metin's Favorites. Hey, every teacher =

Subject: NA-E: Latin & Argentine Tango Club of Detroit "Festival of Events"
We have so many events planned in September that the term "Festival of
Events" is in order.
Following is a listing of events in chronological order.
Tuesday, September 5th
Class at Dance Avenue in Dearborn. We will resume classes every Tuesday.
The class will be from 8:00pm to 9:00pm. We will have a practica
immediately following until 10:00pm. Note that we will also continue our
classese at the Pittsfield Grange in Ann Arbor on Thursdays from 7:00pm t=
o
9:00pm followed by a practica until 10:00pm.
Saturday, September 9th
Pe=F1a at Dance Avenue. We will have pe=F1as at Dance Avenue every secon=
d
Saturday of the month. September 9th will be the first. We will offer a
class in Argentine folklore (chacarera) from 7:00pm to 9:00pm. R=FAben a=
nd
Betty Cazal=E1 and Amy (all accomplished Argentine folklore dancers) will
teach the class. Dinner will be served after the class. Then we will da=
nce
until everyone gets tired.
Friday, September 15th
Mariana Gonzalo & Claudio Pascuas arrive, direct from Buenos Aires. They
will be with us through the end of the month. Claudio's mentor is Fabia=
n
Salas. We consider Fabian the "founding father" of our Club. They will
participate in all our events and also will be available for private and
small group lessons.
Saturday, September 23rd
Workshop and Pe=F1a at the Pittsfield Grange in Ann Arbor. In addition t=

Mariana & Claudio we will have Compa=F1=EDa TangoDanza with us for this e=
vent.
Compa=F1=EDa TangoDanza consists of Leandro Palou & Andrea Miss=E9, Gabr=

& Maria Sol Alzamora, and Diego Amor=EDn & Vanesa De L=EDo. The Workshop=
begins
at 1:00pm. There will be three 1 1/2 hour classes. We have the unique
situation in which we can offer beginning, intermediate, and advanced lev=
els
simultaneously and have world class teachers for each level. We will hav=
e a
Pe=F1a beginning at 7:00pm with a group class in chacarera, followed by d=
inner
and dancing.
Sunday, September 24th
Join Amy & Ray, Claudio & Mariana, Leandro & Andrea, Gabriel & Maria Sol,
and Diego & Vanesa for the milonga at the Brickhouse in Utica.
The milonga begins at 7:00pm and ends at 11:00pm.
Friday, September 29th
THE LATIN & ARGENTINE TANGO CLUB OF DETROIT 7TH ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION!!
This will be a formal gala dinner and show at the beautiful and historic
Lovett Hall in Greenfield Village, Dearborn. All three couples of
TangoDanza and Claudio & Mariana will perform in the Show. In addition w=
e
will have some of Michigan's Greatest Dancers performing, including our o=
wn
Motor City Milongueros. No promises, but we are working very hard to get
Silvia C=E9spedes back for our 7th Anniversary Celebration. We hope to h=
ave
Silvia with us for an extended time teaching and performing for the Club.
General Dancing will begin at 7:00pm, dinner will be served at 9:00pn, th=
e
show will begin at 10:00pm. There will be three acts interspersed with
general dancing.
Saturday, September 30th
A Party at the Scarab Club in the Detroit Cultural Center. Again, all o=
ur
special guests will be with us. An Argentine tango group class will be
offered at 7:00pm, beginning, intermediate, and advanced. The Party will
begin at 9:00pm. Please join us and experience the unique atmosphere of =
the
Scarab Club.
Sunday, October 1

Tomas Howlin and Chantal Dauphinais, beautiful dancers and superb teachers
from Montreal, will be teaching a series of classes in Salt Lake City
September 5th-22nd.
Intermediate/ Advanced class series:
