PLANET TANGO presents
Tango Weekend in New Orleans
August 26 -27, 2000
Beyond the stately double doors marking the entrance to the restored
Bourbon Orleans Hotel lie dazzling legends of New Orleans' colorful
history. Dating back to the early 1800's, the Bourbon Orleans houses
the enchanting Orleans Ballroom. Located on the third floor, it was
built in 1815 to cater to the city's insatiable love for dancing and
entertainment. Masquerade Balls, Carnival Balls and even the
notorious Quadroom Balls, in which beautiful fair-skinned black women
or quadrooms were selected to be the mistresses of wealthy Creole
gentlemen were held in the Orleans Ballroom.
On August 26, 2000 history will be made again when Planet Tango hosts
the First New Orleans Tango Ball at the Bourbon Orleans Hotel from 9
PM to 1 AM.
You are cordially invited to participate of weekend workshops taught
by Valorie and Alberto, and to enjoy a memorable evening of Tango
dancing on a sprawling site that holds generations of history, the

We can take only five men for the TOPAZ TANGO with FABIAN SALAS and CYNTHIA
and EL INDIO and MARIANA in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico. Get a GREAT
DISCOUNT! It is the week of Fiestas Patrias in San Miguel, and the fireworks,
fun, and partying are unparalelled. $700 per person, double occupancy, is the
regular rate, includes all tango, tango show, breakfast, light dinner.
Beautiful accomodations.
If you are from HOUSTON, DENVER, or ALBUQUERQUE, I'll be at your milonga next
week, and you can make arrangements with me in person.
TIKAL TANGO
EL INDIO and MARIANA will be teaching in Guat.
We need people for Antigua, Guatemala!! Will give great discounts for groups
of four that include two men. If you have never been to Guatemala, it is
indescribably beautiful and gentle. Disregard the violent stories if they
scared you away; we will not be among guerillas, but among soft shell-colored
walls and buildings, tropical vines and flowers, coffee plantations,
sparkling stars and smoky volcanos, and a day in the mystery of Tikal, the
ancient Mayan ruins.
We will do everything to make you happy!
$580 per person, double occupancy, for Sept. 19-24 (leave the 24th, or stay
on another day to play with us.) Beautiful accomadations and breakfast at
Casazul, all classes and show with El Indio and Mariana, Argentine Folk dance
class, and tour of Antigua included.
