Date: Sat, 9 Oct 1999 11:16:18 -0300 From: Janis Kenyon <jantango @FEEDBACK.NET.AR> Subject: SA: Romance de Barrio en Buenos Aires Romance de Barrio is tango show at the San Telmo Arte Club, Cochabamba 370 with performances on Friday and Saturday at 9:00pm. Tickets are $18. STAC has a small theatre that seats no more than 100 people. I sat only ten feet from the 25' x 20' stage. I would not have known about the show if Milena Plebs had not told me and invited me to a performance. It is not listed in the show section of Buenos Aires Tango. So if you are coming soon to Buenos Aires, add this to your weekend agenda. The artists include Anibal Arias (guitar), Osvaldo Montes (bandoneon), Aurora Lubiz and Jorge Firpo (dancers) and Walter Gutierrez (singer) . The general direction in under Milena Plebs who is continuing her artistic productions. I have seen Aurora and Jorge perform before, but I was absolutely delighted to see their talents being showcased in Romance de Barrio. The evening began in the art gallery area with a saxophone quartet, Quarteto D'Cote, playing tangos and milongas. They also played during a costume change in the show. They are wonderful. Janis Kenyon Buenos Aires
