Trio Pantango is a contemporary Tango trio but is unique in that they play in the style of the "old guard," i.e., for dancers (their instruments are the bandoneon, piano and guitar). Date: Wednesday 8 December 1999 Time: 8:45 pm to midnight Location: VFW Mt. Auburn Post, 688 Huron Avenue, Cambridge, MA, USA Cost: $12 members, $15 non-members Refreshments and hors d'oeuvres will be provided. Semi-formal dress (jacket for gentlemen) is encouraged. (The normal 1 hour introductory class from 7:30-8:30 pm will still be held--no extra charge for the class if you are attending the Milonga.) About Trio Pantango: They have released 5 Tango CDs since their founding in 1992, and have built up a reputation in Buenos Aires and Europe (where they have toured frequently and are especially popular). They have also recorded several Tangos for the "Solo Tango" TV channel in Buenos Aires and have played at numerous venues in Buenos Aires, at the Bandoneon Festival in Krefeld and in major cities in Europe. They are playing in Boston as part of their first tour in the United States.
