Date: Fri, 3 Dec 1999 01:02:26 -0700 From: "Richard T. Simoni, Sr." <rtssr @BATNET.COM> Subject: DATE CORRECTION FOR LINCOLM MILONGA Hi, George Guim has asked me to post a date correction for his final Argentine Tango Milonga to be held at Lincoln University. Inscenes Magazine (internet) inadvertently posted an incorrect date for the event which this message is intended to correct. The dance will be from 9PM - 12AM at Lincoln University Auditorium, 281 Masonic Avenue at Turk, 2nd floor, in San Francisco. $10.00 at the door. As this event is intended to be a party, there will be no lesson. Let's all dress up and give George and his Lincoln milonga the tribute he/it deserves for the many wonderful past evenings we have enjoyed. Again, the correct date for this event is December 10, 1999. Further information: 415-564-5999, or 650-328-2718

Date: Fri, 3 Dec 1999 16:38:40 -0300 From: Janis Kenyon <jantango @FEEDBACK.NET.AR> Subject: SA: two good reasons to go to BsAs in December Reason #1 You can get away from winter weather. It's warm and sunny in BsAs. Reason #2 Buenos Aires 2000, five days of free events at 37 venues, 9-13 of December. Music and dance performances, movies, photo exhibits, lectures, classes and milongas. For example: Luis Cardei will perform at Megafon. Alberto Castillo will sing with Orquesta de Jorge Dragone in Torquato Tasso. There will be a milonga on Corrientes (from Callao to Parana) beginning at 10pm on December 11 featuring El Arranque, Alberto Castillo with the Orquesta de Jorge Dragone, Los Reyes del Tango, Los Cosos de Al Lao with Alfredo Piro, Color Tango, and an exhibition by Miguel Angel Zotto, all in one night. On Tuesday the 7th there will be a debate: TANGO Y MERCADO at Libreria Gandhi at 7pm. Nos cuesta reconocer al tango como el producto mas distinitivo de la industria nacional. Pero quienes y como invierten en el tango? que politica cultural lo contempla? que leyes de mercado lo alcanzan? Participan Jose Gobello, Miguel Angel Zotto, Julio Nudler, Juan Fabbri y Eduardo Arquimbau. The city government has printed a schedule of the events which is being distributed at the milongas. The concerts would satisfy any tango lover's appetite. There are so many things going on at the same time that it will be hard to choose which one deserves attention.
