Hi, everybody--
What's the big deal? It seems to me that:
(A): opportunities already exist to enjoy tango in various contexts,
without having to get mired in a bunch of *just talk* about
which is best:
If one wants to socialize and dance tango somewhere, it seems to me
as simple as going somewhere and attending a milonga (or milongas)
and dancing and socializing.
If one wants to socialize and dance tango somewhere at a *special
time* when *people from all over* are getting together, it seems as
simple as going somewhere and socializing and attending a milonga (or
milongas) when people from all over are getting together to do that.
If there are also classes going on that one doesn't want
to attend--don't go, sleep late, hang out with other people
who don't wanna go to classes, eat, play cards, go cross-country
skiing, dance, rest up for dancing all night, whatever...
If one wants to socialize and dance tango somewhere at a **special
time** when **people from all over** are getting together and there
are **definitely no classes offered**, it seems as simple as going
somewhere and socializing and attending a milonga (or milongas) when
people from all over are getting together to do that **without having
any classes offered**.
Don't go to the classes that aren't being offered, sleep late,
hang out with other people who don't wanna go to the classes not being
offered, eat, play cards, go cross-country skiing, dance, rest up for
dancing again all night, whatever...
or (B):
If one personally feels that the universe is skinny on offering any
of the above, (or whatever), then organize such a thing.
Bailemos!

Subject: Watching the Seed Grow
Suppose a group of people from around North America (let's say about
ten) picked a city and longish weekend with milongas on Thursday,
Friday, Saturday and Sunday. The group announces they are all going
to the milongas in the target city on the given weekend as part of a
tango exchange. Everyone else is invited. How many others would join
in and make the trip for at least part of the weekend? How far would
they travel to participate in the exchange?
