This fabulous company of young tango dancers performed superbly last night at
The Latin & Argentine Tango Club of Detroit, 7th Anniversary Dinner Dance, at
Lovett Hall. It made the trip from Cleveland worth every expense. This is one
company of dancers you don't want to miss. Leandro and Andrea have always
excited everyone where ever they go.
I am also very excited that in one month, Cleveland is hosting this wonderful
show plus

Hola Tangueros,
This weekend, September 29th and 30th, will feature a special series of
tango workshops in the Capitol District. On Friday night there will be
classes and a practica at Lorrain Micheals Dance Center in Albany, New York
and on Saturday there will be day long classes and a milonga at the Erie
Dance Hall in Schenectady.
The instructors for these workshops are:
Pablo Pugliese
Sarah LaRoca from Stepping Out Dance Studios in New York City
and
Johnny Martinez & Diane Lachtrupp also from Stepping Out Dance Studios
Diane happens to hail from the Capitol District and has enjoyed teaching many
workshops back in her home town.
Johnny & Diane have just returned from Argentina where they performed as
invited guest of the Argentine Government, in the Fifth Annual World Tango
Summit. They will also be teaching West Coast Swing and Salsa.

Subject: EU-W: European Tango Band Tour
Attention European Tangueros
Dale Meyer with his "Strictly Tango/Parlando" band from San Francisco is
planning a European tour during June, 2001 and is interested in booking
engagements, perhaps in your area. The band envisions playing the
following formats in the selected locales:
(A) One or two nighttime milongas.
B) An al fresco "Hit and Run" milonga similar to those he has played in
San Francisco to great acclaim.
(C) An outside Argentine tango concert during the noon hour at which
the locals would be encouraged to dance or just enjoy the music.
(D) A tango concert to be performed at a local school or some other
community facility (such as hospital, nursing home, etc.).
Those of you in Europe who may have an interest in securing more
information on this tour or an interest in bringing the band to your
area should contact Dale Meyer direct at parlando @sirius.com. His visit
to your area could be arranged to coincide with another tango event
already scheduled or could be the impetus for the scheduling of
additional events. Dale is interested in your suggestions. Your input
as to your local tango activity would be very helpful in setting the
tour schedule.
