Date: Thu, 30 Mar 2000 11:14:02 -0800 From: Jan A Gazenbeek <tangoguy16 @JUNO.COM> Subject: MISC: Live Tango Orchestra in San Francisco Dear List, I am just writing you all to let you know that on Friday, the 31st of March, "Strictly Tango" will be performing at the Metronome Ballroom's "Swango" Party hosted by Ken and Natasha Delmar. It is not located in the main ballroom (1830 17th Street at De Haro), but in the "Block Party" around the corner. "Swango" stands for "swing" and "tango". The party is a combination of both!! I encourage all milongueras y milongueros in the SF Bay Area to attend as this promises to be a wonderful evening of LIVE music!! Be prepared for a crowd!! Date: Fri, 31 Mar 2000 00:04:32 -0800 From: Steve Hoffman <DrSteveH @IBM.NET> Subject: NA-W: Tonight (Fri.) in S.F. San Francisco Tangueros and Tangueras: As Miller's regular (excellent) practica at Rhythm and Motion is not happening this Fri. (which he announced yesterday on the list), why don't people think about coming down to Ruddy and Judith's great milonga in Los Altos - those that would otherwise be at Miller's? The music is great, excellent floor, and the people are very nice, albeit not quite at the same dance level as the top milongas in the CIty - still, lots of good dancers. It's easy to get to... less than five minutes off 280. Go 280 south to El Monte east (under freeway); follow about 1-1/2 mile and then turn left on Foothill Expressway ... go 1/4 mile and turn off slant right onto San Antonio, then immediately left at the light onto First St. It's down about 1/4 mile on the right; the American Flag flies high above the entrance to the milonga at the American Legion Hall. (No financial interest ...blah blah. - just my late night musing...) Steve Hoffman
