Clay's Dance Studio (see signature below for contact information) is pleased
to present Portland's 3rd Annual October TangoFest.  All classes, milongas,
privates, relaxing, schmoozing, practicing, or whatever will take place in
the Temple Ballroom, 6401 SE Foster.  This building has two large ballrooms
and a large basement meeting room for our use.  There will be milongas Fri
($6 pay at the door) and Sat evening ($8 pay at the door) to recorded music
and a Sunday evening ball with Tango Divino (4-piece all-girl tango
orchestra), snacks, and instructor performances.

The instructors are (a) Evan Wallace, Michelle Badion, Tony Fan, and Ilana
Rubin from Seattle, (b) Christy Cote, Christopher Nassopoulos, George Guim,
Tracy Calk, Gary Weinberg and Chelsea Eng from San Francisco, (c) Daniel
Lapadula from Miami, and (d) Luciana Valle, Marcelo Solis, Yanina Messina,
Tomas Howlin, Silvana Grill, Norberto (El Pulpo) and Luiza from Buenos Aires.

Price for each class individually is $15 and the Sunday ball is $15.
Combined price for all classes and the Sunday Ball is $125 if received on or
before 10/18/99 ($140 if received after 10/18/99).  Registrations can be

We're pleased to announce a special tango weekend at
Tango=85nada mas on October 29-31. Leandro, Andrea and Gabriel
were the stars of Santa Fe Tango Week.  They are not only
wonderful dancers, but some of the most thorough teachers ever
seen in the US.

There will be a total of  8 workshops in this intensive learning
weekend. They will teach tango combinations ("steps") on specific
topics, always focused on technique.  Tango, milonga and vals will
all be taught in these intermediate/advanced level classes.

We will also hold a special costume milonga that will include a full
show
featuring both couples!  Those of you who were here last March
know the
kind of show that Leandro and Andrea put on.
